To make it easier for the readers of this blog, we have changed our address to
Don't worry, if you use our previous address, you will still be redirected to our new home!!

Welcome to Daily Food Bank!!!

Welcome to Daily Food Bank, for those of you who have found this blog through the Tastings Wine Bar & Bistro site, welcome to my contribution to the culinary experience.
At this stage, I will begin to take you through the remaining weeks of our construction phase at Tastings.Beginning this week and every week from here until we open, I will keep you up to date on all the happenings, from our new management team, to our build out progress and beyond. Follow us as we prepare to take you on a food and wine experience like no other you have experienced in this area. What is it really like to open a new restaurant?? I will share with you my experiences, both good and bad, as well as show you through photos where we are week by week.
Once we are open, I hope you will continue to follow my kitchen team and I through our process of development. We will share with you our new dishes, our techniques and oddly enough, most importantly our failures,as I believe this is the only way to move forward in a kitchen environment, understand your mistakes and failed dishes and you begin to understand how to succeed.
Both my kitchen team and I want to bring you into this multi sensory experience by giving you behind the scenes information, pictures, recipes and most of all a sense of why we do what we do. Why do we love the chaos? love the long hours? working weekends? Most will never understand, most will think we are crazy, only those who live it day in and day out will fully understand, but I hope that through our posts you can determine your own answers to those questions. Its different for each of us so called "kitchen rats", but I will do my best to express to you through Daily Food Bank what it is all about to me and my crew.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who came to support us at the Taste Of The Tour pavilion, right by the 18th tee at the picturesque Nashawtuc Country Club. Hosted by my good friends, husband and wife team Chris Spinazzola and Marjorie Clapprood, the Taste of the Tour is designed to generate awareness and stock the pantry at the Boston Medical Center’s Grow Clinic, which provides comprehensive medical, nutritional, social services and dietary assistance to children diagnosed with significant growth problems.
We had fun with watermelon, making 5 dishes all using watermelon including dishes like "Escolar Sashimi w/ Wateremlon Air and Corriander" & "Seared Watermelon Steak, Cranberry Honey, Dried Cranberries, Feta Cheese and Olive Oil Powder" , we gave people a taste of whats to come at Tastings Wine Bar and Bistro later this summer.
The Taste of the Tour Pavilion also included other offerings from Chef Ming Tsai of Blue Ginger, Todd Englishs' Olives with Chef Joe Brenner, and Rachel Klein from Aura. With every ones support we raised over $50,000 for the Grow clinic, and we had a blast doing it. Thanks again!
